Patient Handling Belt
A symmetrical shaped patient handling belt that can be selected by the carer to assist the user during:

a) Ambulation
b) Transfers
c) Sliding

It is constructed from a special lightweight laminated material that provides a soft and pliable inner surface to the belt that is comfortable for the user and prevents slipping up the waist when fitted.

The outer surface is strong and durable woven fabric that can be easily cleaned/ wiped down.

The belt is attached by clicking together both the male-female plastic buckles attached to each end of the belt.

A length of adjuster strap that is routed through the male part of the buckle allows the belt to be simply tightened/ loosened accordingly.

Unique Design Features:

• Four angled handles, two on each side and one horizontal handle centrally positioned at the back.
• The angled handles are attached on the outer edges of the belts width to enable the carer to achieve a wide palm grip and easily and quickly release their hand if required.
  
• The design allows the carer to hold the handles in a comfortable neutral position without strain on the wrists, by simply turning the belt upside down to change the angle of the handles when fitting, ie during a frontal or side approach.
  
• Also incorporating the “body hug” facility (elastic insert), which stretches or contracts and allows the belt to automatically readjust to the users waist size during any mobility/ handling activity.
  

For example, no manual readjustment or tightening of the belt is needed when the users waist size changes during repositioning from sitting to standing.
